Street Combatives Instructor
Adeel Ahmed, known to most students as Adam, is a seasoned striker and competitor who blends traditional karate discipline with modern mixed martial arts programming built for real-world encounters.
At the Institute of Modern Defence, Adam teaches Street Combatives using MMA principles adapted specifically for self-defence, not sport. His approach strips away rules, rounds, and referee assumptions to focus on what actually works when encounters are chaotic, fast, and unforgiving.
Adam’s background in full-contact karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu allows him to integrate striking, clinch, and ground skills into a single, practical system. Training prioritizes rapid problem solving, positional awareness, and decisive action over prolonged exchanges.
His philosophy is simple and direct: “Train MMA. Skip the cage.”
Students learn how to apply mixed martial arts intelligently for street defence without training like they are preparing for a fight night.
